Money stolen from cash-in-transit van by men 'carrying metal bar'

The incident occurred in Duleek, Co Meath this morning.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a robbery involving a cash-in-transit van that took place this morning.

Two men approached cash-in-transit staff as they were transferring an amount of money to a business premises on Main Street, Duleek, Co Meath at about 10.15 this morning.

The men threatened the staff and made off with a sum of money. One man is believed to have been carrying a metal bar.

They made off in what is described as a Silver Ford Transit van with a partial registration number 01 WW in the direction of Drogheda.

The van was discovered a short time later burnt out at the rear of the old graveyard in Duleek.

Any witnesses to the event or anyone with any information of the robbery is asked to contact gardaí at Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 8010600, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
